She's Riding Now!

Lauren has finally mastered riding her bike. She could to it last year but convinced herself she couldn't do it and refused to practice any more. Then for her birthday this year she got a scooter from her cousins. She has mastered that and just the other day she decided to try her bike again. She was amazed that she really could do it! I'm so proud of her! Like everything with Lauren she does't master new skills until SHE is ready, not her mom!

Easter 2011

We celebrated Easter with Bradley's side on Saturday and my family on Sunday. The kids enjoyed all the egg hunts and mostly just being with their cousins! We were able to dodge the rain at both Easters to have some time outdoors to play. It was a great weekend!

Peeps Cupcakes

We decided to make several Easter goodies this year including homeade peanut butter eggs (think Reese's PB cups), Peeps cupcakes, and carrot cake cupcakes. Lauren took great pridc in decorating all the Peeps cupcakes and Blake enjoyed eating the leftover frosting!

Dyeing Easter Eggs!

Blake's first time at dying easter eggs was an experience. He had fun but was very annoying to his sister since he kept mixing the colors! As most things with a two year old, his interest didn't last long so Lauren was able to recover a few of the eggs to be the way she wanted them!

Pie Anyone?

Lauren recently participated in Jump Rope for Heart at her school to support the American Heart Association. One of the prizes (aka motivators) was that if a student raised $100 they got to throw a pie in the face of their PE Teacher, Mr. E.

So last Thursday the school had an assembly to announce how much the school raised for AHA and who would be throwing pies in Mr. E's face. The school raised over $10,000 putting them in the top 20 in the state!!! Thirty eight students got to throw pies in Mr. E's face, four from kindergarten.

Lauren had so much fun. Blake and I went to watch and Blake responded, I don't want pie in my face and has talked about it for days since.

Congrats to AGS for doing so much good to help a great organization. Lauren, we're proud of you!

Painting

I finally decided it was time for Blake to try painting. I had held back from letting him give it a try for fear he would not just paint paper but my whole house! Since it was nice out a few weeks ago (never mind the past few rain soaked days) I let him paint on the deck. Needless to say, he loved it and told me he was painting tractors!

Grandpa's Boy

Blake is a Grandpa's boy. He wants to be with Grandpa all the time! On Sunday night Grandpa and Grandma came out and Bradley and Blake were mowing in the tractor. Blake saw Grandpa pull up and immediately wanted out of the tractor so he could be with Grandpa. So they spent the next 15 minutes or so just sitting and talking. This boy never sits still so the fact that he does this with Grandpa and only Grandpa says a lot! I hope their bond continues for a lifetime. It's a pretty special thing.

Brooke Ann

Over the weekend we went to visit our new niece Brooke. The kids finally had their chance to hold her since they couldn't at the hospital. Both of them adored her but Blake was especially enthralled with her. But later when I asked him if he wanted a baby sister he of course said "no." Verdict is still out on that decision! But boy does she give me baby fever. I think for now, I'll just enjoy spoiling her every chance I get!

Happy Tuesday!

Go Cards!

We went to the Cardinals game on Sunday. We went with some friends from Bradley's work and had so much fun. We sat in a suite, which is the only way to go to the game with kids. Yeah to all you can eat nachos and hot dogs. Blake was a happy boy with that and Lauren was thrilled to have all the cookies she could eat (she takes after me). I seriously think we've ruined our kids from sitting in normal seats now!

Lucky for us they won and it was Kid's Day so the kids got to run the bases after the game. They all were very patient waiting to get on the field. It was cool to go through the underground part of the stadium and see some of the behind the scene stuff. Blake loved Fredbird's truck and could have cared less about running the bases. Lauren took off so fast with her friends we couldn't keep up! Blake wouldn't run by himself so I had to go with him. Then when he reached second base he stopped and wouldn't move! He finally made it around the bases and caught up with Lauren. The kids all had a great time. Lauren's friend Kaylee even declared, she could live there! I asked the kids their favorite part of the day, Lauren said running the bases, Blake said seeing Fredbird!

Girls Day Out!

To celebrate many of our spring birthday's we had a girls day out on Saturday. Mom mom, aunt, grandma, mother in law, daughter, and family friend all had a fabulous time dining and shopping at Josephine's in Godfrey. I hope someday I can own an awesome tea room/girls lunch place like that! It is just so much fun to visit and be treated like a lady. Here is a picture of our group.

When I returned home and went to find Blake and Bradley this is how I found Blake. I think he had a hard day's work!
