Parental Viewing Night at Dance

Last Tuesday, oh wait, I'm that far behind, try April 6th was parental viewing night at Lauren's dance studio. It was fun to see the girls practice their routine for their upcoming recital on May 22nd. It was also fun to see how much they've learned since the last parental viewing night. Lauren really seems to enjoy dance. Watching her brings back fond memories of my dancing days as well. Thank you mom for giving me that experience. I hope Lauren enjoys it as much as I did.

Easter Recap

We kicked off our Easter activities with a playdate at our house with some of our friends. The kids enjoyed hunting for eggs and going on a scavenger hunt. This was the first time I had organized the egg hunt by color based on the age of the kids. It worked really well and helped things to be a little educational too. Then the kids went on a treasure hunt using picture clues. This was the first time I had ever done something like that and it turned out really well!

We celebrated Easter with the Vallett family on April 3. Mason and Lauren had a good time hunting eggs. Blake could really care less. He would pick up a couple and throw them in his basket but he was more excited just to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather. The night was a late one with us not getting the kids to bed until 11:30! Ouch!

Brekin and Aaron hosted Easter for the Bartlow side. It was great to have all the cousins together. We couldn't have asked for better weather. My mom had prepared over 250 eggs for the kids to hunt! So needless to say it took a while for them to find them all. Although it was Blake's third hunt of the Easter season he still could have cared less. He was way more interested in riding Addison's gator! Thankfully she was a good big cousin and obliged to drive him around!

Garden Gods

Garden season has begun! It's fun to watch Blake get in on the action this year since last year he wasn't even crawling at this time. Grandpa and Grandma have been busy helping the kids plant potatoes, onions, tomatoes, zucchini, flowers, and my personal addition basil. Last year we had tons of rain and this year we are having to water the garden! What a difference.

Two-wheeling

Lauren has been working really hard learning to ride her bike. Unfortunately our driveway just doesn't have enough concrete for her to go a long distance before she ends up on gravel which scares her. Our sidewalks are curved so that presents another challenge. However, she is doing awesome and is actually riding on her own but just doesn't trust herself enough to try it in town or on the blacktop we live on. I'm working on building her confidence and hope that soon I'll be able to report a successful bike ride around town!

Big Foot

I'm very behind on blogging these days.  I hope to catch up by weeks end.  I hope to post a few picks of Lauren learning to ride her bike, planting our garden, and our four Easter celebrations.  Stay tuned!

In the meantime, I have to post this one quick thing.  I took Blake to get new shoes today.  I was amazed to purchase him a size 7 1/2 extra wide!  I can't get over the size of my little boy.  Lauren didn't wear a size 7 until she was nearly 3.  I'm scared to know how big his feet are going to be before he's done growing!
