Little Gym Spring Semester Wrap Up

Blake wrapped up another semester of Little Gym on Thursday. He has really improved with his skills this semester and knows no fear now. He used to be scared to jump off the balance beam, not now, used to be scared to do step slides on the high bars, no more, and used to cry when the air trac came out, no more. He has learned to gallop this semester, wheelbarrow walk, and has really improved his upper body strength. I love what Little Gym does!

Creative Juices

I love to do crafty things but rarely find the time for it anymore. Granted I'm not very creative but if I see a good idea, I usually can copy it. So a few weeks ago I saw a floral spray at a garage sale that I had admired for several spring seasons on this ladies door. She was selling it because the flowers were faded. Well lucky for me, I was able to snatch it up and use it as a model to make some for my front door. So here is what I came up with yesterday morning! Blake was content to play by himself putisde long enough to let me whip these up in the garage while watching him. I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out!

Delicious!

We had company Sunday night and this is the dessert I made! It was so good! Strawberry Cake by Paula Deen. I highly recommend it. I can't get the link to copy but if you go to www.pauladeen.com and search strawberry cake it will come up.

A young reader

Blake loves to look at farm equipment in newspapers, magazines, advertisements, and of course in person. So he was quick to snatch the Agrinews from his daddy on Saturday while eating his lunch (still in his PJs no less) so he could check out the equipment on the back page. I can't get over how serious he takes this stuff, just look at that face!

The end is in sight!

I can't believe just 8 more days and Lauren is done with her Kindergarten year. I'm amazed at how much she has learned in a year. She can read, write, tell time, count money, do simple addition and subtraction, and is getting better at her spelling every day. She has matured a lot and I'm very proud of her.

The picture on the left is from the first day of school and the picture on the right is taken last week Thursday before her field trip to the Magic House. Bradley got to go with her on this trip and they had so much fun together!

Congrats Lauren on a great year! I'm looking forward to a fun filled summer with you!

She's a natural

Lauren has finally warmed up to the idea of leading Cash. She took his halter and acted as though she's done this her whole life! He stepped on her a few times, tried to run/jump away and she never let go, just turned him the other way and kept going! I'm so proud of her. Like with all things with Lauren it has to be her idea and on her time line but once she decides something she conquers it. Go girl!

A crop sprayer at my house!

Last week a crop sprayer came to spray our wheat field next to our house. Blake was enthralled by the whole thing and is still talking about it. Luckily there are lots of farmers in the fields down here now so he's got lots of equipment to look at!

Brooke's Baptism

A few pics from Brooke's baptism. We were honored to be her Godparents along with Leslie's sister Ashley. Brooke did great, didn't make a peep through the whole thing. She's such a good baby!

Mother's Day

I had an awesome Mother's Day weekend. On Saturday we attended the baptism of our newest niece Brooke. Then on Sunday we headed over to the mills mall with G&G Wolter and met Keith, Leslie and Brooke there. The kids and the guys hung out at Cabella's while the ladies did some shopping. Then we enjoyed ice cream and finally some great time outdoors when we returned home. It wa a gorgeous day and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Lauren made me a beautiful poem and butterfly magnet which she was so proud of. I will treasure it forever! Thank you sweatheart!

Dapper

Grandpa Floyd has taken it upon himself to teach Blake new words. His latest one, dapper. So the other night for church he was all dressed up and informed me he was dapper. I think so too little man!

Cash our baby calf

Cash has grown so much since we brought him to our farm. He is now drinking from a bucket instead of a bottle and has moved from an inside pen to a large outside run. I've been working with him to break him to lead and he's doing really well. A few nights ago we let Blake lead him and he did really well considering he's only two!

Grandma Marcia's Birthday

The kids and I went to Grandma Marcia's house two weekends ago to celebrate an early birthday and mother's day. We brought her favorite dessert for her birthday cake. The kiddos insisted on candles, and then helped blow them all out! Unfortunately we weren't able to get in on any farming action as it was still too wet.
