Little Miss Clinton County

After asking for three years to participate, I finally agreed to let Lauren be in the Little Miss Clinton County Pageant. Luckily it is a non-compete pageant so it's all for fun. Last week we went for her first meeting with the queen and a tea party just for all the little princesses. She had so much fun! Her friend Rhya from kindergarten is in the pageant too and they just happened to have the same dress on the night of the tea party (not planned at all). We have been spending time dress shopping trying to find the perfect dress for the parade and pageant. I hope she enjoys the ride!

Delaney and Macie's Visit

Delaney and Macie came to visit for a couple days in early June. I love having this special time to really bond with my nieces. We had lots of fun playing and spending time outside. Lauren loved having her little cousins around and even having matching outfits (by chance) with Delaney. Macie is such a sweetie and such a good baby. Blake had some major jealousy issues with Macie but we got through it. Needless to say, he would not be a happy boy if we had another baby!

The new toy

Blake has riden his battery power tractor so much that it's worn out. So we finally convinced Bradley that he needed an early birthday present in the form of a battery powered gator. They both are enjoying it so much!

Surprise!

On May 28th, we (Andy, Julie, Aaron, Brekin, Bradley and I) hosted a surprise party for Mom to mark her retirement from teaching. We managed to pull it off without her knowing which was quite a challenge! To top off the surprise her sisters were all in attendance and we're in on the party planning as well.

Mom has had a remarkable career at Southeastern and has impacted so many people. She not only has been a dedicated PE teacher and bus driver, but also served as the athletic director for many years, reading teacher, and has supervised countless student teachers. We wanted to throw this party for her to let her see just how much she means to so many people. Mom you are an amazing woman! I hope you enjoy your retirement to the fullest! Congratulations!!!!!

Blakers

Blake had a bad night last week and refused to go to bed one night. He got so upset that I left him alone to calm down while I went and read to Lauren. When I came back this is where I found him. He had climbed on top of his dresser, taken off his pajama pants, and managed to get one arm out of his pajama top, but was sound asleep.

Marcia is Retired!

Last Tuesday night, Southeastern was hosting a retirement dinner for all the retirees in the school district. They had invited all the families to attend. Mom did not know we were coming but Andy, Aaron and I surprised her by being there. It was fun to see her reaction and was really great to catch up with our former teachers. I'm really happy for my mom to be retired and have no doubts she will stay very busy during retirement!

If I may so so, we're a good looking bunch!

Jump Rope for Heart Celebration at the Grizzlies Game

As part of her Jump Rope for Heart fundraising at her school, Lauren got tickets to the Grizzlies game. All the students that had participated got to walk th e field before the game and have their school name announced. Here she is walking with her friend Carissa.

Lauren and Blake reallly could have cared less about the game. They had way more fun on the playground equipment, inflatables, meeting Izzy, and getting their faces painted!
